Identity on your phone
MoonID creates a key pair on your device. Keys are protected by MoonKeyStore. The private key never leaves the phone.
You approve a login
MoonTraze opens MoonID (app or QR). You select an identity. MoonID signs a one-time challenge with your private key.
Server verifies the signature
Only the public key, signature, and challenge are sent to MoonTraze. We verify the signature cryptographically. We never see or store your private key.
You are signed in
After a valid signature, MoonTraze issues a normal session token. No password was transmitted or saved for this login method.
Security note: MoonKeyStore manages keys on-device. MoonTraze only verifies signatures. An attacker cannot log in as you without access to the private key on your device.
